Match Day 2025: A Year of Impact, Growth, & Community at Genesis Family Health

ree

Every year, Match Day reminds us of something powerful: Southwest Kansas takes care of its own.

When you give to Genesis Family Health, you’re giving to families, children, new parents, students, grandparents, farmworkers, and neighbors who rely on us for accessible, affordable, compassionate healthcare.

As the giving period begins again, we want to take you behind the scenes of what your support made possible this year. This was a year marked by transformation—new services, expanded outreach, improved facilities, and a stronger-than-ever commitment to making high-quality healthcare available to everyone.

Below is our full 2024–2025 Year in Review, a testament to what community care looks like when we work together.

Medical Care: Meeting Patients Where They Are

Accessibility is at the heart of everything we do. This year:

Medical Services

  • 15,216 medical visits were completed across our clinics.

  • 6,468 patients received medical care.

  • 3,754 patients received care on our Sliding Fee Scale, ensuring income never becomes a barrier.

These numbers highlight something essential: healthcare isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our patients include:

  • Agricultural workers with chronic pain

  • Mothers receiving prenatal care

  • Families managing diabetes

  • Children needing immunizations

  • Seniors navigating Medicare

Your support ensures they never go without care.

Behavioral Health: Supporting Families Inside and Out

The need for mental health support continues to grow—and our team met that need with compassion and commitment.

Behavioral Health Services

  • 6,696 behavioral health visits

  • 1,228 patients served

Our BH team helped individuals and families navigate:

  • Anxiety, depression, and mood disorders

  • Trauma and abuse histories

  • Family and marital conflict

  • Disruptive behaviors in children and teens

  • Substance use disorders

  • Anger management

  • Social phobias

  • Stress related to finances, work, school, and caregiving

Behavioral Health in Schools & Community Partnerships

In addition to clinic services, our behavioral health team expanded care into local schools and colleges—ensuring students can access support where they need it most.

This year, we have strengthened:

  • Partnerships with Garden City Community College (GCCC)

  • School-based mental health programs

  • Community collaborations for substance abuse resources

These efforts create a safety net for youth and young adults, supporting mental health early and consistently.

Substance Abuse Services: A Path to Recovery

Substance abuse impacts families across Southwest Kansas. This year, our teams continued to provide a safe path to stability.

Substance Abuse Program

  • 755 visits

  • 307 individuals supported

This includes:

  • Suboxone treatment

  • Counseling and recovery support

  • Referrals

  • Crisis intervention

  • Long-term care coordination

Care Centers: A Key Access Point for Essential Needs

Our Care Centers provided critical support to individuals facing barriers such as transportation, food insecurity, housing needs, and financial hardship.

Care Center Impact

  • 9,564 visits

  • 8,322 unique clients served

  • 4,673 clients received Sliding Fee Scale support

These teams ensure that no patient must navigate crisis alone.

A Multilingual, Multicultural Community

We proudly served families speaking 41 different languages this year. Interpreters and bilingual staff remain essential in ensuring equitable access to care for all.

Charitable Care: Breaking Down Barriers

Thanks to donor support and community partnerships, Genesis Family Health provided more than: $3.3 million in charitable care

This funding ensured that medical, behavioral health, dental, and specialty services remained accessible—even for patients unable to pay.

Dental & Lifetime Smiles: Healthy Smiles, Healthy Futures

Our dental clinic continued to offer preventative, restorative, and emergency care to families across Southwest Kansas.

Lifetime Smiles

Our school-based dental outreach achieved a major milestone:

  • 7,000 children received dental services this year

  • 28 schools participated

  • Screenings, cleanings, sealants, and fluoride varnishes were provided to students across the region

Many of these children received dental care for the first time—preventing issues before they become lifelong challenges.

Maternal & Infant Health: Growing Families, Healthy Starts

This year, we celebrated 74 babies born under the guidance and care of our providers.

Our team supported mothers with:

  • Prenatal care

  • Postpartum care

  • Early childhood screenings

  • Breastfeeding education

Each birth is a reminder of why accessible care matters.

Cancer Screenings & Prevention

Early detection continues to be a major focus of our medical team.

This year, 2,255 people were screened for breast, cervical, or colorectal cancer

Screenings like these save lives and ensure patients receive timely treatment and referrals when needed.

Food Is Medicine (FIM): Innovation in Action

As 1 of only 7 FQHCs in Kansas selected for the Food Is Medicine initiative, we helped diabetic and pre-diabetic patients improve their health through food-based interventions.

This year, the program:

  • Provided medically tailored groceries

  • Transitioned patients into hybrid food support programs

  • Supported published research highlighting successful outcomes

Patients experienced:

  • Reduced A1c levels

  • Improved diet quality

  • Better food security

This program is shaping the future of chronic disease management.

Community Engagement: Showing Up Where It Matters

Our outreach team showed up across Southwest Kansas, participating in 13 community events, including:

  • Pridefest

  • Stuff the Bus

  • United Way Chili Cook-Off

  • FIM community events

  • Dodge City Days Parade

  • National Health Center Week

  • Boo at the Zoo

  • School Trunk-or-Treats

  • Día De La Mujer

  • Thanksgiving Boxes distribution

  • Liberal Open House

  • Sunflower Health Plan Mobile Screenings

Our top event helped us engage with up to 5,000 participants—highlighting the community’s growing engagement with our services.

Building & Facility Improvements: Creating Better Spaces for Care

Thanks to community support, we completed significant upgrades across multiple locations:

Liberal Clinic

  • Fully remodeled from the ground up

  • Improved accessibility, safety, and patient experience

  • Updated interiors, exam rooms, offices, and flow for efficient care

Garden City

  • Four new offices added
